Impacts of climate change can be not olny suffered, local municipalities, but also entreprises and other stakeholders can increase their adaptive capacity with strenghtening their awareness, resiliency and partnerships.
The Klímaválasz program helped Hungarian local governments to promptly adapt to the harmful effects of climate change impacting their municipalities.
The program had two stages: a survey assessing the local population’s and local governments leaders’ awareness of climate change, and training programs for municipality leaders.
The program also assisted local governments in preparing local level plans and strategies, and in easily finding and utilizing relevant EU funds.
